I have no idea why people took my baby son's name so personally - Kareena Kapoor on son Taimur's name Controversy

Kareena Kapoor Khan and husband Saif Ali Khan welcomed the newest addition t their family on December 20 - a baby boy named Taimur Ali Khan Pataudi. The young price was an instant internet sensation with pictures of his angelic cherub face flooding fan pages. Apart from that, his name �Taimur� created quite a stir and grabbed headlines after many linked it to a former Mongol conqueror. Kareena chose to keep mum on the same.


However, when probed about the controversy by a daily, the new mummy expressed her shock saying that she though the incident was �bizarre�. Bebo said, "It was bizarre. I have no idea why people took my baby's name so personally. But we love the name and let me put it this way � it has no resemblance to any person living or dead. We love the meaning (Taimur means iron in Arabic) and I am happy that [some] people came out in support of us so strongly. That support matters more than anything bad that was said or written." Thanking friends and family who let them their support, the star said that it was their support that mattered more than the bad things that were said or written.

Earlier, Saif too had cleared the air about naming their son Taimur, which in Arabic means iron. Similarly, Kareena too revealed that couple fell in love with the meaning of the name and that probably explains why they chose it.
